Being in the army does pay. If you are an active military member or veteran, you are eligible for various discounts and promotions. For active members, some test programs are free, also they are eligible for various courses with an important discount or even for free. Because there are many things a soldier needs to know, education programs are a priority, so often the courses taught on base are subsidized by the military. However, all these education programs require commitment.
